John "Banana"

A Marine in Verruckt

One of the four Marine fighting zombies.

The Marines are soldiers part of the United States Marine Corps, and are part of the Richtofen's Grand Scheme Timeline. They are playable in both Tutorials, Nacht Der Untoten, and Verrückt. Tank is playable in the rest of World at War and Black Ops with some exceptions of maps, and makes appearances in Black Ops III. Rook is playable in both Tutorials.

Overview Edit

In Nacht Der Untoten, a plane carrying marines back to the U.S. was shot down and only four survived. They fend off against zombies in an abandoned German Bunker.

In Verrückt, a small strike team of four sent to extract the OSS Operative Peter McCain. They are Tank Dempsey, John Banana, Smokey, and a fourth, unnamed marine.

Tank Dempsey survives the onslaught at the Asylum, but is captured by the Nazis and becomes the replace test subject for an unknown Mexican who had died. The test was on Superhumans powered by Element 115 or Divinum.

They are the playable characters in the Call of Duty: World at War version of Verrückt, but were replaced by Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki and Edward Richtofen in the Call of Duty: Black Ops version of the map.

  • The Marines might also have known Pvt. Pyle from the campaign as one of them says "For Private Pyle!".
  • The Marines have four different voices for each player in Verrückt.
  • There are at least ten known members of the marines. Five marines appeared in Nacht Der Untoten, (The fifth died in the opening cutscene) and four marines appearing in Verruckt. The last one appears in both Tutorial levels.
